an album is the sum of so many parts...daydreams, lyrics scribbled on post-its, melodies hummed on long walks, heartbreak, love, misunderstandings, catnaps, and late nights plunking away at the piano, singing, singing, singing. and when you have a full-time job, and are possibly even pregnant, there's a lot of things on your to-do list other than write music and record. so thank goodness for music, which, luckily, won't take no for an answer.
and, thank goodness for the amazing people who i have been lucky enough to work with. bonnie hayes, grammy-award-winning musician, is a hell of a rockstar producer -- a sweet, funny, dynamo of a woman who calls it like she sees it. great thanks to the fantastic kyle caprista on drums and mike shiono on bass, to patty espeseth who played cello on 'little rock' & 'virginia rose', and rich armstrong who played flugelhorn on 'same difference'. big ups, too, to harry green for design.
big thanks to seth, who supported my running off to the studio every week, and who continues to be an amazing and loving presence in my life. and for being such a great dad to 'lil willa.
